About the Studio

A home is the truest portrait of the people who live in it.

Courtenay Martire leads a boutique practice where fashion, art and architecture meet a builder's discipline.

The Principal

Courtenay Martire, Principal & Design Director

Martire Custom Homes is a principal-led studio. Every home is shaped by one vision, one relationship and one standard, sustained across twenty-three years and, most tellingly, across clients who return again and again.

Courtenay's eye was formed early and widely. A BFA in Fashion Design and Production led to years styling large beauty and couture photo shoots in New York, Miami, Los Angeles and London, an education in proportion, light, texture and the discipline of making something look effortless. She grew up amid the ambition of Dallas luxury residential building and absorbed the architectural heritage of Chicago, learning a Midwestern practicality that still grounds the work.

Her mother, an artist and painter with New Orleans roots, gave her a painter's sense of colour and atmosphere. The historic and antebellum homes of the Gulf Coast, Mobile Bay and Mississippi's Long Beach, together with the Georgian architecture of the Northeast, the farm communities of the American West, California and Pennsylvania, all live quietly in her design language. From a military family, she values structure, discipline, trust and legacy, and it shows in how her projects are run.

The Path

From couture sets to custom homes.

Courtenay returned home after New York and the events of 9/11, met her husband, a builder, and together they created million-dollar speculative and custom homes. In 2010 she assumed full directorial ownership of Martire Custom Homes, rebranding the firm toward high-end residential renovation and interiors.

What followed is a body of work that is intuitive and artful, yet structured and accountable, and a roster of homeowners who have made Martire their studio for life.

How She Works

Courtenay has a rare ability to speak with space, to read a home and an owner's life, balance a home's energies, and craft the homeowner's soul print into thoughtful, well-built rooms.

What Sets the Studio Apart

Principal-Led, Always

You work directly with Courtenay, not a rotating team. One vision carries from first conversation to final styling.

Artisan Partnerships

Long-standing relationships with craftspeople and trades mean millwork, cabinetry and finishes executed to an exacting standard.

Trust That Returns

Roughly ninety percent of the studio's work comes from repeat clients and their referrals, the truest measure of a home well made.

Begin the Conversation

Every project begins with a conversation about your home, your life, and what you hope it will become.
