Interior Design & Art Direction

Collected First Floor Interiors

An expressive first-floor interior design spanning nine rooms: custom millwork, handmade wallpaper, lighting updates, a vintage shop lantern, a study nook, a gentleman's office, and layered art direction, with meaningful family heirlooms woven throughout.

Arched foyer and stair hall with dentil crown molding, a mahogany console with wildflowers, and a houndstooth-runner staircase, renovated by Martire Custom Homes

Arched openings and dentil crown molding frame the stair hall, its staircase dressed in a houndstooth wool runner

A favorite decorative project spanning nine first-floor rooms of layered, collected interior design. Updates to a newer kitchen sit alongside custom millwork features, handmade wallpaper, refreshed lighting, and a vintage shop lantern in the kitchen. A study nook and gentleman's office are among the most personal spaces.

Art direction gives the home its soul. Courtenay incorporated meaningful family heirlooms, including original Currier & Ives Americana prints discovered among the family's collection, framing and styling them within antique barrister bookcases. The dining room carries a Susan Aurinko black-and-white C-print of Prague architecture. It is a home that feels gathered over a lifetime rather than decorated in a season.
